Privacy policy

THE CIMPLE CO ("we," "us," and "our"), operates the website thecimpleco.com. This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect, how we collect it, how we use and disclose it, what choices you may have, and how to contact us about our privacy practices.

1. Personal Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

We receive and store information you provide when you place an order, create an account, contact us, request support, submit a return or warranty claim, or otherwise interact with us. Depending on the interaction, this may include:

  • Contact information such as your name, shipping address, billing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • Account information such as login credentials and account preferences, if you create an account.
  • Order information such as the products you purchase, order history, shipping selections, and return or warranty history.
  • Payment-related information needed to complete a purchase, which is processed through Shopify and/or our payment providers.
  • Communications such as messages you send through our contact form, customer service inquiries, return requests, and warranty claim details.

Information Collected Automatically Through the Site

When you visit or use our store, Shopify, Google Analytics, Other Systems, and our storefront may automatically collect certain technical and usage information. This may include:

  • Device and browser information such as browser type, operating system, device type, IP address, and general location derived from IP address.
  • Storefront and checkout activity such as pages viewed, items added to cart, checkout progress, and session information.
  • Cookie identifiers and similar session data used by Shopify and Google Analytics for site operation, analytics, and platform-level reporting.

Information We Receive from Service Providers and Other Sources

We may receive information from Shopify, payment providers, fraud-prevention providers, and shipping carriers, such as payment confirmations, fraud indicators, shipping updates, delivery information, or corrected address details.

2. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to operate, provide, maintain, and improve our business and store. For example, we use personal information to:

  • Process and fulfill orders, including payment processing, shipping, returns, refunds, and warranty service.
  • Communicate with you about orders, customer service issues, returns, warranty claims, and policy updates.
  • Operate the site, maintain account features, troubleshoot errors, improve site performance, and understand how visitors use the store through analytics.
  • Detect, investigate, and help prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity.
  • Maintain business records and comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

3. When and Why We Disclose Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Shopify and related service providers to host and operate the store, process orders, process payments, provide fraud screening, and support checkout and order-management functions. We have enabled Shopify Network Intelligence, which allows Shopify to use data from our store together with data from other merchants and Shopify services to power enhanced features such as improved fraud detection and checkout optimization. Under certain U.S. state privacy laws, this data sharing may be considered a "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising." You may opt out of this sharing through our Your Privacy Choices page or by sending a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser.
  • Google through services such as Google Analytics. Google may collect browsing and usage data (including page views, product interactions, and purchase events) to help us understand how visitors use our store. Google may also receive browsing and conversion event data to measure the performance of product listings. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Shipping and logistics providers such as USPS, UPS, and DHL Express so your order can be delivered.
  • Payment processors and financial service providers so payments can be authorized, processed, and refunded.
  • Professional advisors and legal authorities when disclosure is required by law, legal process, or reasonably necessary to protect our rights, property, safety, customers, or others.
  • Business transfer participants if THE CIMPLE CO is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to the promises in this Privacy Policy unless you are told otherwise.
  • Other parties at your direction if you ask us to share information with a particular person or service.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for site operation, analytics, and platform-level reporting. Cookies used on our store may include the following (Shopify may set additional cookies as part of its platform services; see Shopify's Cookie Policy for the complete and current list):

  • cart_currency -- remembers the currency associated with your cart
  • cart -- stores cart contents
  • _tracking_consent -- stores your cookie consent preferences
  • _shopify_essential -- Shopify essential session cookie

Analytics and Reporting Cookies

  • _shopify_s -- Shopify platform session cookie for aggregate store reporting
  • _shopify_y -- Shopify platform cookie for aggregate store reporting
  • _shopify_analytics -- Shopify analytics cookie

You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, some features of the store, including cart and checkout functions, may not work properly. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to browse or purchase.

We recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we and our platform provider (Shopify) will treat it as a request to opt out of activity that may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising purposes, consistent with applicable state privacy laws. A GPC signal does not disable all cookies or all data processing; it signals Shopify to exclude the opted-out browser from Shopify Network Intelligence advertising features.

To manage your data-sharing preferences with Shopify, including opting out of Shopify Network Intelligence, visit our Your Privacy Choices page.

5. Your Choices

  • Account information: If you have an account, you may review or update certain account information by logging in.

6. Region-Specific Disclosures and Privacy Rights

We voluntarily honor verified privacy requests from residents of the states listed below where practical and legally appropriate, regardless of whether a particular state privacy law technically applies to our business.

California Residents

In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected categories of personal information that may include identifiers and contact details, commercial information, internet or network activity associated with store use, communications, and payment-related information processed in connection with orders. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. Through Shopify Network Intelligence, certain browsing and interaction data may be shared with Shopify and used in ways that some state laws classify as "sharing" or "targeted advertising." You may opt out through our Your Privacy Choices page or by sending a GPC signal.

California residents may request that we:

  • Disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected about them.
  • Disclose the categories of sources, business purposes, and categories of recipients associated with that information.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete personal information, subject to legal and operational exceptions.
  • Opt out of Shopify Network Intelligence data sharing that may qualify as a "sale" or "sharing" under California law, through our Your Privacy Choices page or by sending a GPC signal. Google Analytics data collection is governed separately by Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. Where California law may not apply to us, we may voluntarily honor comparable verified requests.

Utah Residents

Utah residents may request access to personal data we process about them, ask us to delete personal data they provided to us, and request a portable copy where applicable. We do not sell personal data for monetary consideration. Through Shopify Network Intelligence, certain data may be used in ways classified as targeted advertising under Utah law. You may opt out of Shopify Network Intelligence sharing through our Your Privacy Choices page or by sending a GPC signal (see Section 4). Google data collection is governed separately by Google's Privacy Policy. Where the Utah Consumer Privacy Act may not apply to us because statutory thresholds may not be met, we may voluntarily honor comparable verified requests.

Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut Residents

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut may have rights under applicable law to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, or certain profiling. We do not sell personal data for monetary consideration. Through Shopify Network Intelligence, certain data may be used in ways classified as targeted advertising. You may opt out of Shopify Network Intelligence sharing through our Your Privacy Choices page or by sending a GPC signal. Google data collection is governed separately by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not engage in profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Where these state laws may not apply to us because statutory thresholds are not met, we may voluntarily honor comparable verified requests.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. That includes relying on Shopify's hosted commerce infrastructure, access controls, and encrypted transmission for checkout and payment-related processes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Shopify processes personal information on our behalf to provide storefront hosting, checkout, payments, fraud prevention, order management, Shop Pay, and related commerce services.
